Is it ok to put skid marked pants in the washing machine or will the bacteria spread?

It's really hard teaching your children to go to the toilet and wiping is the hardest thing without blocking up the loo!! I would really like to know if the skid marks on pants can keep the bacteria alive or will it die quite soon? Thanks
