What monetary damages can you receive for wrongful termination?

A plaintiff in a wrongful termination case is responsible to mitigate damages when they sue. This means in the event of wrongful termination, they must try to secure other employment. If they are offered a similar job and they refuse to accept it, this may result in no damages award, due to the failure to mitigate.
