British Occupation of Israel?

A mandate from the league of nations did not constitute an illegal occupation and the U.K. withdrew voluntarily after several years of zionist terrorism designed to drive the British out. The UN received formal notification of the forthcoming British evacuation in Feb. 1947; on May 14,1947 the Soviet Union appealed for partition and a Partition Plan was created and approved by the UN on Nov. 29,1947. The zionists announced their pseudo-state on May 14,1948,the day the UK completed it's withdrawal; zionists then continued with terrorist attacks, now directed against Palestinians, ultimately claiming more than 30% of the area of Mandate Palestine alloted to them in the Partition Plan, which they had legally accepted, including Jerusalem. The Mandate officially began in 1920 but was not formally ratified by the League until the San Remo Conference in 1922. In practical terms it began with the British conquest of Palestine in Dec. 1917. Thus British rule lasted slightly over twenty years. Given the above your subtextual questions do not apply.
