How does the setting of west egg in The Great Gatsby relate to the character of Jay Gatsby?

I need help with an english paper from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. i just need some ideas of how the character, Gatsby develops a relationship to West Egg. like an example would be like George Wilson lives in the valley of ashes and the setting is very dull and it shows that Wilson is also very dull. something like that but with Gatsby and West egg. as many examples are well appreciated! thank youu!
